Reason(s) behind overthrowing Gaddafi’s regime | Declassified #17

If you read the news articles on the death of Gaddafi of 2011 especially; his regime’s atrocities, his dictatorship, the crackdowns, and suppression of voices will be put forth in them as reason that US had to intervene as the saviour of the Libyan people, give them the ever desired US freedom. Well, when the Clinton emails were declassified over the years, something came up which either was met with total media ignore on, or people were just too in their lives to care.

It is a war crime to kill the captured in custody, the Libyan authorities said that Gaddafi was killed in crossfire, between his convoy and the rebels. Emergencies director at Human Right Watch – my favorite Golden Zero organization – Peter Bouckaert said, “The evidence suggests that opposition militias summarily executed at least 66 captured members of Gaddafi’s convoy in Sirte. It also looks as if they took Mutassim Gaddafi (Gaddafi’s son), who had been wounded, to Misrata and killed him there. Our findings call into question the assertion by Libyan authorities that Muammar Gaddafi was killed in crossfire, and not after his capture.” Later in the days tons of images and videos surfaced showing him captured by the forces and in a bloody state, some claiming that he “begged for mercy.”

A Human Rights Watch research team was nearby when Gaddafi’s convoy engaged in its final battle with opposition forces, on October 20, 2011. Following the battle, the research team visited the site and found more than 100 bodies, most killed in combat. Two days later, the Human Rights Watch research team found the decomposing remains of at least 53 people at the nearby Mahari Hotel, some with their hands still bound behind their backs. Volunteer workers at the scene told Human Rights Watch that relatives of some additional dead had recovered their bodies prior to the Human Rights Watch visit. These killings constitute the largest documented execution of detainees by anti-Gaddafi forces during the eight-month conflict in Libya, Human Rights Watch said. This is just to show that the execution was a war crime but it does not tell the reason behind this killing, that story will be told by Hillary Clinton.

I’ve said before that If it came to the point on focus to which one thing was the root of 20th & 21st Century mayhem, it’d probably be the battle for the control of oil, but it can be compounded if it’s about competing with the petrodollar. It was funny to me, that the documents revealing the information were made public on New Year’s Eve, ah, the best time for public to find time to read them. It revealed evidence that NATO’s plot to overthrow Gaddafi was fuelled by first their desire to quash the gold-backed African currency, and second the Libyan oil reserves. An email was sent to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by her unofficial adviser Sydney Blumenthal titled “France’s client and Qaddafi’s gold”. Now if you thought that money and currencies still function on gold, I feel sorry for you, you know nothing about how the world works.

The email identifies French President Nicholas Sarkozy as leading the attack on Libya with five specific purposes in mind: to obtain Libyan oil, ensure French influence in the region, increase Sarkozy’s reputation domestically, assert French military power, and to prevent Gaddafi’s influence in what is considered “Francophone Africa.” Most astounding is the lengthy section delineating the huge threat that Gaddafi’s gold and silver reserves, estimated at “143 tons of gold, and a similar amount in silver,” posed to the French franc (CFA) circulating as a prime African currency.

If Qaddafi had succeeded, the United States of America and Europe would have been forced to buy oil and minerals in the gold backed currency thus tipping the scales. This was a horror the West dared not experience. The leaked Clinton email has far-reaching implications on the fluid state of post-colonial relations with the West. If anything, it is an eye-opener. Where Africa seeks to build an independent economic structure, the West is seen to try and derail those plans so as to retain its primacy in world affairs. With regard to the creation of a new currency, Ministry of Peace Founder, Dr James Thring said, “It’s one of those things that you have to plan almost in secret, because as soon as you say you’re going to change over from the dollar to something else, you’re going to be targeted.”

It remains “unclear” exactly why or how the Gaddafi regime went from “a model” and an “important ally” to the next target for regime change in a period of just a few years. But after claims of “genocide” as the justification for NATO intervention were disputed by experts, several other reasons started to emerge. Oil, of course, has been mentioned frequently — Libya is Africa‘s largest oil producer. But one possible reason in particular for Gaddafi’s “fall from grace” has gained significant traction among analysts and segments of the non-Western media: central banking and the global monetary system. According to more than a few observers, Gaddafi’s plan to quit selling Libyan oil in U.S. dollars — demanding payment instead in gold-backed “dinars” (a single African currency made from gold) — was the real cause. The regime, sitting on massive amounts of gold, estimated at close to 150 tons, was also pushing other African and Middle Eastern governments to follow suit.

In March 2011, Arab Spring was at its peak chaos came to Libya’s second-largest city, Benghazi — and the West and its allies quickly capitalized on those events to partake in a falsely-premised rebellion of its own. Citing a U.N. Security Council resolution to invoke a no-fly zone over Libya to “protect civilians,” the United States, UK, France, and others began a bombing campaign on March 19 — in actuality, of course, that protection was of the central bank monopoly and, in particular, France’s financial interests in the historically French-colonial region. “We are doing it to protect the civilian population from the murderous madness of a regime that in killing its own people has lost all legitimacy,” railed French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who played a key role in Gaddafi’s demise. As head of the U.S. State Department, Hillary Clinton intoned the scripted narrative, heralding the intervention in Libya as the need to “protect civilians and it is to provide access for humanitarian assistance.” They’re really good liars, I need to give it to them, if it wasn’t for the emails, we would’ve never known, but unfortunately rather than appreciating Assange (founder of Wikileaks), we find him in and out of courts.

There are certain things that I find not mentioned in the content related to Gaddafi’s Libya, that is important is weighing the “dictatorship” and his policies for the people. Some of them included free healthcare, education, and electricity. For newlyweds $50,000 was provided for a home, mothers recieved $5000 for each birth of a child, 50% of car purchase was paid by the government and unemployed Libyans received the average salary for their profession in benefits. Libya was also known as the “Flower of Africa” under Gaddafi as he built dams and water projects; the (then) world’s largest irrigation project. And despite certain issues in Libya before the coup, international lawyer Francis Boyle noted that “Libyans had an incredibly high standard of living, the highest in Africa. When I first went to Libya in 1986, I was amazed by the empowerment of women. What I saw in Libya was that women could do anything they wanted to do” – which as we’ve seen before is a major “reason” used by the invaders of the middle-east and Africa i.e. that women are oppressed there, which wasn’t the case in Libya. By the way, Hillary Clinton fought the US elections on the back of “women empowerment” just saying. Some reports even noted that Gaddafi was “raped by a sword” by his captors. New York-based Human Rights Watch said Gaddafi was already bleeding from head wounds caused by blast shrapnel as he tried to flee Sirte, his hometown. The charity obtained unedited mobile footage that showed militants abusing Gaddafi as they took him into custody in October 2011. “As he was being led on to the main road, a militiaman stabbed him in his anus with what appears to have been a bayonet, causing another rapidly bleeding wound,” the report said.

Sidney Blumenthal wrote: “On April 2, 2011 sources with access to advisors to Saif al-Islam Qaddafi stated in strictest confidence that while the freezing of Libya’s foreign bank accounts presents Muammar Qaddafi with serious challenges, his ability to equip and maintain his armed forces and intelligence services remains intact. According to sensitive information available to this these individuals, Qaddafi’s government holds 143 tons of gold, and a similar amount in silver. During late March, 2011 these stocks were moved to SABHA (south west in the direction of the Libyan border with Niger and Chad); taken from the vaults of the Libyan Central Bank in Tripoli.” Indeed, the extent of the threat to the West’s central financial monopolies from the gold dinar-backed currency is made astonishingly clear as the now-notorious memorandum continues: “This gold was accumulated prior to the current rebellion and was intended to be used to establish a pan-African currency based on the Libyan golden Dinar. This plan was designed to provide, the Francophone African Countries with an alternative to the French franc (CFA).

The bombing continued to devastate Libya, later it was found that Gaddafi had sent a quote “gut-wrenching letter” to Obama begging for an end to NATO-led airstrikes on Libya. Addressing the then president as “Our son,” referring to Obama’s African heritage, Gaddafi wrote [unusual spellings and errors per original]:

“We have been hurt more morally that physically because of what had happened against us in both deeds and words by you. Despite all this you will always remain our son whatever happened. We still pray that you continue to be president of the U.S.A. We Endeavour and hope that you will gain victory in the new election campaigne. You are a man who has enough courage to annul a wrong and mistaken action.” Gaddafi added that “for the sake of economic, and security cooperation against terror, you are in a position to keep Nato off the Libyan affair for good. As you know too well democracy and building of civil society cannot be achieved by means of missiles and aircraft, or by backing armed member of AlQuaeda in Benghazi.”

But his plea — as one sent just days before the bombing began, in which Gaddafi insisted, “even if Libya and the United States enter into war, God forbid, you will always remain my son” — fell on purposely, criminally deaf ears. On October 20, 2011, Gaddafi attempted in vain to flee the city of Sirte — and Libya fell largely under Western-backed rebel and NATO control by the end of the month.

I look forward to US holidays, that’s when classified and top secret documents are made “public” there are tons of research material available on Libyan Gold-backed currency being the reason behind the “revolution” of Libya, and frankly you should read that yourself if you really care. As per usual, the U.S. and its Western counterparts left the country to its own devices after slashing the once-thriving nation to the ground. Virginia State Senator Richard Black said to media after the demise of Gaddafi, “Today there is no government of Libya. It’s simply mobs that patrol the streets and kill one another.” Tragically, as has played out repeatedly throughout the world, any nation — no matter how functional and successful — will be annihilated by the American empire if it or its allies have sufficient reason. As Sen. Black noted — as could be of any such nation: “We were willing to absolutely wipe out and crush their civilization.”
